A Memorable Memorial Day...

We started out on the shore of this beautiful backyard...

With the boys, and the skipper too (that's David)

Celia and her cousin...

And away we go....

Will was the first to partake of the water :)

Celia had never tubed before and was trying to figure out how to get in without getting wet...ha ha!

But somehow she did manage to do it!!

She enjoyed her ride!
A few more action shots...

Jamie's impression of Jack from Titanic "I'm King of the World!"

And of course you can't pass up a great butt shot!

After we arrived home we took a short intermission before going to Sarah's to cookout.

Hot dogs before...they go from 16 grams of fat on the left to 7 grams of fat in the middle and 1 gram of fat on the far right...

the grill master at his work ...

and his masterpieces...strange... the lowest fat ones didn't change much:)

Sean and Keely were there

the guys relaxing..

Mom and her oldest grandson!

Hope your Memorial Day was as fun and memorable as ours!

It's Four O'Clock Somewhere!

I walked out in my backyard today around sixish and saw my beautiful four o'clocks in full bloom! This is a plant you can only really appreciate after the sun starts to go down and then they open up and put off a soft sweet fragrance. These are my hot pink ones. I also have yellow and soft pink. They die back in the winter. These have grown this much since the spring.

I have a sign that says "The Earth Laughs in Flowers"
If that is true my yard is finding things quite hilarious right now :)

Lazy Way!

A couple of days ago I needed to go a couple of doors down to Sarah's house to borrow some cat food. Well leave it to little boys to play with their...

big toys! This is David's newest toy. He acquired it in a trade for one of his tractors. I liked it a lot better than the motorcycle he had!!!

Happy Mother's Day!

Before I was a Mom

I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.
Before I was a Mom :
I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom :
I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests. Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom :
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put her down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom :
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mom :
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every
10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment
or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom.

Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms and Grandmoms!

Play Day!

Last weekend Naomi came over for a visit. Her Great Grandma gave her a doll and now it looks as if we may have another doll enthusiast in the family! I also hear Liam has a crush on Sweetie Pie (the doll in the picture!) Here are some of the most recent pics of them...

They grow like weeds!!!!!

Yo Ho! The Pirate's Life for Me!

This past weekend was the 45th annual Shrimp Festival. We have been going for years. There are lots of antique booths and craft booths. And the smell of the food....oh my gosh was it good!
It all started with....

a band of pirates!

This is a shot down Main Street. We got there early. It was very crowded by the time we left.

The architecture in Fernandina is absolutely beautiful!
This house was on Main Street.

An old clock tower.

One of the many yummy treats!

Jewels from one of the Pirates wandering around the streets.

A pose with a cool ride that was for sale.

Later in the day....much more crowded. This is down one of the side streets.

We walked down to the water...many cool boats.

There were pirate flags galore!

After being down there by the water and smelling the salty air...

I can see the draw to the life...I could be a sea person!(That's politically correct for Pirate:)
